Homewood Christmas Parade features and highlights:
The Homewood Christmas Parade will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016. A new feature to this year’s parade will be the lighting of the Homewood Star on 18th Street as the parade enters Downtown Homewood. An emcee announcing parade entries and highlighting parade participants will be located at City Hall Plaza. Other activities at City Hall Plaza include the arrival of Santa Claus, music provided by the Homewood High School Band and the Lighting of the Christmas Tree at City Hall.
Parade Grand Marshal – Chris Coghlan of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs
City Hall Plaza activities will feature:
• Homewood High School Band
• City Hall Christmas Tree Lighting
• And of course Santa Claus!!
Parade Route: The parade will begin at the Homewood Library and travel east on Oxmoor Road; turn left onto 18th Street South; travel under the Christmas Star; turn right onto 29th Avenue; turn left onto 19th Street; travel past City Hall turn left onto 28th Avenue; Travel to the intersection of 18th Street. Walking groups will be encouraged to turn left onto 18th Street and vehicles will have to continue straight thru the intersection toward Central Avenue.

All updates the day of the event will be made via the Park’s Facebook page & Twitter feed. These updates will occur if there are any changes, delays or cancellations due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The updates will appear on the Park’s twitter feed (@homewoodparks), the top right corner of every page on the park’s website (www.homewoodparks.com) and the park’s Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/homewood.parks )
Online Registration opens Tuesday, November 1, 2016
* Registration is limited to only Homewood organizations and businesses until Monday, November 28th. *
Participation is FREE – Limited to 50 entries
Homewood Organizations & Businesses Registration Dates:
Tuesday, November 1st – Sunday, November 27th
Open Registration Dates:
Monday, November 28th – All remaining parade entry positions will be open on a first to register basis.
