2017 We Love Homewood Day 5K

Saturday, May 6th @ 7:30am – Homewood Central Park
Make a running start to your We Love Homewood Day at the 3nd Annual We Love Homewood Day 5K. The race starts and finishes at Homewood Central Park with a mostly flat course in Edgewood. For more information and to register for the race please visit the race’s website by using the link below.

We Love Homewood Day Festival @ Homewood Central Park
Rides, Games and Inflatables: Located at Homewood Central Park (1632 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209) the fun begins at 10:00am and lasts until 4:00pm. A “We Love Homewood Day” favorite will offer a variety of inflatables, rides and activities for all ages to enjoy. There is no admission charge to enter Central Park for the festival but to ride and play on the attractions one must purchase an all-day unlimited attractions wristband ($15) or individual tickets can be purchased to redeem at each attraction. Wristband/ticket sales will take place in two pavilions in Central Park.

Reckless, Swing Ride, Mind Winder, Pirates Revenge, Mickey Toddler Combo, Engine No 9 Combo, Princess Carriage Combo, Circus Train Inflatable, Triple Lindy Slide, Wrecking Ball interactive game & More!
Vendor Expo: This year vendors will be located at Homewood Central Park with the rides and attractions! 10:00am – 4:00pm. Numerous crafters, businesses and civic groups will display, sell items and provide information to those in attendance. Vendor Expo limited to 50 entries. Vendor Expo packet click here
Day Time Entertainment @ Central Park: A DJ will provide interactive fun and music throughout the day on the Stage in Central Park. In addition to the DJ; Homewood High School Band will perform a midday pep rally/concert at the amphitheater in Central Park at 1:00pm.

Silent Auction: Starting at 10:00am in Homewood Central Park. Come and bid on a variety of items which include. Various gift cards from local stores and restaurants, admissions to local attractions, autographed memorabilia, framed sports artwork and are just a few of the items offered. The Society for Creative Anachronism: Come turn back the clock and experience medieval culture at “We Love Homewood Day.” Demonstrations of armored combat and other activities will take place during the day at Homewood Central Park.
West Homewood Lions Club: Come visit and support the Lion’s Club by purchasing Pepsi products, BBQ sandwiches, hamburgers and hotdogs in Homewood Central Park during the We Love Homewood Day Festival. All sales go to help benefit the Lion’s Club’s scholarship funds and other charities that the club supports.

Located in Homewood Central Park from 10:00am-1:00pm. The Rotary Club will have an assortment of Cakes, cookies and other goodies that will treat your sweet tooth. Located at Pavilion 2 in Central Park
Rotary Club Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival
Homewood Rotary Club, is hosting a Sidewalk Art Show, giving everyone a chance to Chalk, Walk, & Gawk at the abundance of artistic talent that is flourishing right here in our own home town. It only makes sense to showcase that talent, and raise money for a great cause in the process! Proceeds from the Sidewalk Art Show will benefit Homewood Rotary’s Education Foundation.

Here’s how it works: The Sidewalk Art event will take place at Homewood Central Park. Designated areas will be assigned to a participating company, organization or individual on a first-come, first-served basis. Chalk will be provided. Panels will be approximately 8′ square (will vary in size depending on sidewalk availability) and may be reserved for a donation. Non-profit groups may participate free of charge, or may arrange for sponsorship to compete for prizes. Once a particular space has been selected, participants will decorate their space(s) with colorful sidewalk chalk. Panel drawing begins at 8:00 a.m. Prizes for Best of Show, Most Creative, Chairman’s Choice, and Children’s Entry will be awarded at the start of the “We Love Homewood Day Street Dance” in Edgewood Business District that begins at 7:00pm.
Note for participants: Drawings must be G-Rated, with subject matter appropriate for viewing by the general public, and family members of all ages. Decisions regarding content will be made at the sole discretion of the Rotary Club. Chalk only, please. Paint, crayon, or other permanent markings cannot be allowed! Decisions of the Awards Committee will be final.

We Love Homewood Day Parade
Line–up will begin at 5:00pm for the annual parade. The parade will begin at the Homewood Library at 6:00pm traveling west on Oxmoor Road to the Edgewood Business District. Awards for the parade will include Best of Show, Most Homewood Spirit and Best Float. Participation is FREE and the registration form can be found directly below or at the top of this page.

We Love Homewood Day Street Dance
As the sun sets just after the conclusion of the parade the action picks up with live entertainment and a Street Dance in Edgewood. Bring the entire family and your lounge chair and be ready to dance the night away to a crowd favorite Bonus Round. Merchants in Edgewood will be open serving food and beverages. The fun lasts until 9:30 pm.
