    • Back to School Bash

      4:30pm-8:30pm at Patriot Park


      This event kicks off the new school year with rides, bounce houses, food and live entertainment. There is no admission charge but to jump and play on the bounce houses and ride the mechanical attractions, you can pruchase a $10 wristband that will provide unlimited access to everything.


      Proceeds from the wristband sales go to benefit the Homewood High School Band.


    • Christmas Parade

      Homewood Christmas Parade

      The parade will begin at 6:30pm from Homewood Public Library and travel east on Oxmoor Road. Then it will turn left onto 18th Street South, travel under the Christmas Star and then turn right onto 29th Avenue. It will then turn left onto 19th Street, travel past city hall and turn left onto 28th Avenue.


      The parade will feature the lighting of the Homewood Star on 18th Street as the parade enters downtown Homewood and then culminates with the lighting of the Christmas tree at city hall plaza.

      Ages 0-3 years: 10:00am

      Ages 4-5 years: 11:00am

      Ages 6-7 years: 10:00am

      Ages 8-10 years: 11:00am


      The Homewood Easter Egg Hunt is for toddlers and kids up to 10 years of age. Participants will hunt for eggs with children of their own age group. In addition to the hunt there will be games, prizes, and the Easter Bunny will make a visit for pictures.

    • July 4th Festival

      The City of Homewood and the Homewood Parks & Recreation Board will celebrate the 4th of July in Downtown Homewood.  Two blocks of 18th Street South & One block of 29th Ave South will be blocked for pedestrian traffic in Downtown Homewood to make way for rides and attractions. 


      Our event opens to the general public at 5:00pm.


      There will be a combination of inflatables/rides placed in the streets that will appeal to children of all ages.  A DJ will provide music and interactive activities for the patrons at the event.  Downtown Homewood is one of the best locations in the entire metro Birmingham area to view the “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks show from Vulcan Park.  All of our activities will end at the beginning of the fireworks display.


      There is no admission charge to enter the downtown event area but to ride and play on the attractions an unlimited attractions wristband ($10) must be purchased. A tent selling attractions wristband will be located near the intersection of 18th Street South and 29th Avenue South.

      2024 Date

      This event is our annual celebration of our community that includes a parade, 5k run and much more! The festival at Central Park offers a variety of inflatables, rides and activities for all ages to enjoy. The Homewood High School Band performs a midday pep rally/concert at the amphitheater in Central Park. A DJ will also provide interactive fun and music throughout the day on the Stage in Central Park. 


      There will be numerous crafters, businesses and civic groups on display, selling items and providing information to those in attendance. Vendor Expo limited to no more than 40 entries.
